This series was inspired by children I met during my travels and art workshops in India. It is dedicated to the child within, for whom each moment is a new beginning..

In this series I have explored several mediums. Some oil paintings have sand beneath transperent layers of paint, giving movement and texture.

I also painted on glass, an old tradition in india. As one paints from the back, the front can be wiped clean. I have left much of the glass bare, so
we can see the natural textures of the background.. pipal leaves, rice paper dipped in tea etc through it. The paint on the glass, the reflections formed by the paint, and the background with different textures, together complete the painting.
